    Hi,
    I own the domain globaltalentclub.com

I bought this domain having in mind to build a website for talents and talent seekers (something like newfaces.com). But I realised that it wouldn't be very easy since I'm not very well connected, so I dropped the idea.

I still have the domain though. Does anyone have any good ideas on how I could use this domain?

    Thank you!

Originally, the idea was to create a site where talented people (models, actors, singers, dj's etc) would be able for a small fee to post their portfolio where they could be found by agencies and talent seekers.

But I had to compete with some pretty well established sites, my budget was low (for some aggressive advertising), so the whole idea ...just died!

Now I have the domain. I was thinking something like a forum with some extra stuff, like someone could sell his/her pictures online, maybe host some auctions ...Things like that.

Do you have any ideas and how I could make it work?

    Thanks.

Actually a forum sounds like a good idea. You could have areas for actors/actresses, models, musicians, other types of artists, etc.... anything someone might need to hire out for (heck, anything that could be done ona freelance basis from design to writing could even work).

I don’t know much about that sort of thing but a forum in my opinion doesn’t sound like a very good idea. If you don’t have a big budget why don’t you start small? I would advise you to give it a shot you never know, maybe your site will be more popular…

I like the idea of a blog with a few new youtube videos each day of someone doing something cool. Maybe even post videos of people doing "stupid" stuff and make it humorous.

its sort of talent club, so best is to find companies who are willing to sponsor funds and prizes, and then go with a good design interface for a website which seeks for talented people around the world or a particular country you looking to focus on. make a proper concept includng all possible cost calculations.
so for sure lot of work to be done, also be prepared to invest a decent amount initially and more for promotions.

So, basically the website's main function would be a forum. There would also be a blog and occasionally some YouTube videos of ....something (I don't know yet).

Has anybody seen another website like that, so that I may visit and start getting some ideas?

I would not start a blog unless you are quite willing to actually blog. Same with the other ideas actually: how will you get a forum to actually have visitors let alone people who will post? Getting a forum to be active isn't easy.

I know. Well, actually, this is some kind of brainstorming. I'm looking for some really good and original ideas. But you have to start from somewhere.

Another idea, that hit me a few hours ago (and I'm trying to figure out how I can make it work) would be to find a partner (maybe someone from here) who could assist me in running this website and share the profits.

You know, that we live in the era of partnerships. Almost every major company has partnered one way or another to maximise profits. Latest news: Yahoo + AOL + Microsoft. Imagine what could happen to Google...!

So I was thinking the partneship deal a lot. We'll see what comes out.

Possibly, but unless i PERSONALLY know the person (have met them, shaken hands, yada yada), I would never go into a partnership. Especially when that partnership crosses country lines. But hey, make a post here, you might find a partner.

You're right on that, but in this case the other person will invest only a few hours per day. Remember I' m paying for the domain and the server.

If all things go OK, then it could be possible to meet with the other party before going into parnership, sign agreements, etc.

But I still need to figure out:
    1. How a potential partnership could work out
    2. What the website will be about.
