I wasn't sure where to post this. I've gotten a butt-ton of type-in traffic from users in the country of Turkey today. I hit my normal dialy average at 11 a.m. this morning and have twice as many visitors from Turkey than from the US. Strange considering the site is a US military site.....

i think its probably one of the following reasons

You are being attacked by turkish hackers (joking)
or U.S. Military people are viewing your site from a turkish military base lol

hackers... :) probably so thats the last thing I ned right now. Maybe it is a military base...it's coming from all over Turkey though, not just one city.

Very strange...my adsense profit is quadruple the norm already today and the day isn't over yet. Guess I'll hope it keeps up...wish I knew why though.

hmm that is pretty odd... hope its not hackers.. i was joking before but be careful the last thing you would want is google banning you...

Actually thats a search engine that referred your traffic maybe without knowing it you have an article there or something lol

Once in awhile I see a surge in traffic from a different country only to learn that an article I wrote has been picked up and disseminated by a leading news network in that country.

Consider it a good move especially if you get people who turn out to be regulars for your site.

Yeah , thanks Matt, the Turkish are some Adsense clicking maniacs! LOL.
    My articles are seeing a 28% CTR...geez.

I looked again in my Google Analytics and the one referral that I see is actually arama.e-kolay.net but it resolves to http://www.ekolay.net/. I just hope I can find out why this is happening...so i can repeat it. :)

Thanks, yes I noticed their search was powered by Google. Still though I only had one visitor referred from that site. The rest have all typed in the domain name directly into their browser. Can't figure out why the suden exposure to Turkey...

    The site is greenmarines.com

i found that some of news sites says that " sites like military.com , greenmarines.com which are related with military, are publishing some videos american soldiers take at Iraq"

    here is an example..
    here is another...

these are two of biggest news sites..

and your site's name isn't a link, so they writeit to the browser directly...
