This morning i recieved an email to open an account with www.gcgold.com. It says that after you signup your account will be funded with $20 egold instantly and you can withdraw it too.

However, after signup you are asked to download a software to generate registration key and some PE key.

Both are used to activate your account.

But after everything i am not able to login into my account and it keeps saying PE key is invalid.

Stay away guys. My computer is already compromised. I don't know what i am infected with after the use of the software. Just alerting everyone to be careful of any such email. and please inform this to anyone and everyone you can.

Thanks for the warning. However, I never open any email I don't know where it comes from. I open it up to view the raw code instead. That way you can see everything to determine who it's from and what's inside it.

Col :)

gcgold is actually a hacking site, never open it in your browser, If you install there verification software after sign up it will spread 2 trojans, and steal your E-gold/ paypal hidden login.

OMG, my computer is compromised for sure.

Am i safe for even a bit as i stopped using IE and switched to mozilla long ago due to same security concerns. Is mozilla more secure and is it possible for the software to hack my login??

Please tell. My computer is already in bad condition and last thing i would want is another virus or trojan.

Most important thing to do is change your passwords NOW! If they steal egold you don't have many options, but paypal will work with you if the hacker gets into your account.

Changing your passwords now actually might be a bad idea. If the hackers dont already have your password and the trojan can track keystrokes your just going to feed them all your new passwords. I would wipe your whole drive.

First, you should unplug the internet cable, then slowly sort out all the important files that you need and back them up somewhere. Then you're gonna want re-format your computer. Don't enter in any passwords anywhere

Do you have AVG installed? Run the AVG Free Edition 7.5 Setup program if you are using earlier version and not updated yet, it will update earlier version and it will remain free;http://free.grisoft.com/doc/5390/lng/us/tpl/v5
Also you can use zone alarm, they have free version too, it wil Protect your Internet connection from hackers and other security breaches.

Thanks, for the help. It seems even my boot sector was infected. The AV is literally very good. And not like norton which eats a lots of space and slows down your computer.
