Well i heard story about the london top earner that he earns and stand on top by his website http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com/ but i dont understand why people are visiting this site. no offence just curious the site contents nothing but advertising ! can anybody explain this strategy

 

its a unique idea and its a page of history but as u knw everyone on net copies ideas there are 100s of them now

 

yes, one of the thing because it is a unique idea. attarct people attention. get people curious and want to join the hype.

 

just he got BBC intervew , thats why people visiting that site and he got popularity , tats it .

 

Yepp...the original milliondollarhomepage developer got a prime time interview on BBC news that must have generated massive traffic. That isn't going to happen again so someone needs to come up with a new idea! -- these sites have had their day.

 

This is a prime example of viral marketing.


Why is he getting so much traffic?

He has gone down in history, and also the fact that he has so many backlinks all over the Internet makes people visit the website.

Yes, it's my site. The press release helped get the word out, but it would be nice to have a major website/news source pick up the story. I have had a couple large orders (check out the top buyers page) and hopefully there are more on the way.

milliondollar site was successfull because it was really viral. Meaning you would tell your freinds about it because it was so crazy and your freinds would tell other freinds etc.

 

Basically the concept is not very impressive that could make money without any media attention. It's just pure the media who made it a great idea.

 

Yeah your right about that! Now people are making a mockery out of the idea .I have seen 1 cent pixel pages. I dont have anything against them or of people trying to make a living but to go from a dollar to 1 cent. How low can you go

 

He also paid a publicist something like $7k a month to promote the site on major news outlets. Costly, but good exposure.

 

probably this will not have the same succes that mdp had, but it you will have results, a lot of people will find intersting your page and will give the link to others, will blog about it, etc, a lot of traffic.

 

I'd like to have that confirmed by him.
