Myspace marketing - I'm new to it.

Hi i've recently discover that some members use myspace to generate traffic to their affiliate pages or Google adsense sites. However i have a few questions.

1) Is it allowed to use an automitic friend adder?
2) Which one would you recommend me?
3) Let's say i have a list of a few thousand friends how much messages can i send without disturbing the other members. Do you think once a week is enough or is this already to much
4) Is this ok within the google adsense tos to drive traffic to your site on this way?
5) Have you already have success with this kind of marketing?

 

I was wondering about myspace marketing as well, so this is an interesting question, I haven't been able to find any info on it.

To answer question 4, though, I can't see it bothering google.

I'd like to read the ins and outs of myspace marketing if someone knows a link.

 

I am a bit unsure about #4 . I would like to know it also.

 

1) NO!!!
2) They are all pretty much crap. MySpace change their code frequently to fight bots and they usually have a hard time keeping up, beside some basic actions.
3) You dont need friends to send messages, you can send a message to anyone even if they are not your friend.
4) Thats controversial and pretty much vague.
5) Depends who you ask. Most programs are saturated to death.

 

I believe you can post as many "bulletins" as you want. These get sent to all your friends. The thing is, if you send many, a "friend" can proably see that your spamming and easily remove themselves from your friend list and thus you lose out on future sends.

How I market is I take a screen shot of my website and link it to my myspace page. I have the main photo as my logo and my myspace blogs have links to my site. Leaving comments to people on your friends list is good too w/your url.

3) dont send direct emails because that is spam...post a bulletin twice a week and you'll be fine unless someone reports you for spam then your account might get deleted.
4) Nothing says that myspace traffic is not allowed! It is valid as any other traffic.

It is probably not wise to use it. The trouble is that a number of people selling myspace marketing are using hacked myspace accounts or using auto-friend adder accounts to send out the bulletins. It is not a good way to do marketing as it would be deem as spam and being ignored.

3) Nothing wrong with once a week at all. I personally won't send "marketing comments" every week as those are thrown in here and there.
4) Personally I don't think the two are related. Unless of course you send a bulletin or post comments directing people to your website telling them to click on your adsense =p Otherwise, you're simply directing untargeted/targeted traffic to your site just like any other method used.

this is all correct information..except #4..many affiliate programs such as maxbounty, xy7 (contact me if you wanna get signed up), azoogle, and many other affiliate programs do not allow any type of advertising on myspace..if you send traffic to any of them coming from myspace, you may lose your account

 

I've got to disagree with you on this one, but don't expect to get away with pushing simple redirects.

 

He asked about adsense..nothing in the tos says you cant have myspace traffic..now about the affiliates you just listed i'm not sure about them.

You can have as many as you want, some people have tens of thousands of profiles. As for 7, it depends what you're marketing. If you're marketing web sites, you want to use a company/brand to establish trust. If you're marketing offers like CPAs, anything goes.

 

6) Don't put all your eggs in one basket as they say. If you seriously get into myspace marketing you want many profiles. Specifically you want multiple profiles for all the various niches you will want to target. Several profiles for each niche. This also helps if you should happen to lose an account(s) due to myspace deleting it for whatever reason they see fit.

7) Like Hippy said, depends on what you're pushing. For example, lets say you have some kind of photography oriented affiliate product. Your profile should be a nice looking chic(chics get more friends then dudes)who is interested in photography and may have "found" this great product which helps her business, or improves her photography, whatever, and you ever so gently slide your affiliate link in explaining how great this thing is and how much it has helped you.

Then you have some of your "work" displayed on your profile. Pictures you've taken, throw some plr photography articles up in your blog, etc... Make it truly look like someone interested and involved in photography on your page.
