    Sometimes you might need to use your site for stuff other than submitting articles and then dedicated scripts don't have much to help you with. A full-featured CMS is what I'd definitely go for

    Joomla is pretty good. People can register and submit there articles. php NUKE is good but it is too venerable..

    Yes, Joomla is my favourite cms tool, although no script is bug-free and vulnerability is a common thing, you just need to keep up with the official development and have your sites updated when it comes to security fixes :)
