What the Hell is This?

I recently signed up with Yahoo Search and added a campaign- and within minutes, I was finding my ad (along with the rest on the Yahoo search page for a given term) on the following page.
My stats tracker is showing immediate hits from this page.
Even changed my Display URL in my ad account, only to find it changed immediately on this guy's site as well.

What does the webmaster have to gain from this venture?
Am I ALSO paying for clicks from this page??
Is it a legal script for them to run?

    This is most bizarre.

Wow, I find that really wierd since I also just signed up and haven't seen my ads on anything yet.

I'm guessing this is legal, and if I was you, I'd be somewhat dissapointed.

I think you are paying for clicks, but only for the ones that lead exactly to your site.

I've seen these sites before. You are certainly paying for any clicks generated by these sites. You want to opt out of the content search network if you only want your ads to run on Yahoo's site.

You must be talking about Yahoo's content network. You should be able to opt out of it anytime.

OK, but what I'm wondering is if it helps or hurts to have it listed on a page such as that. Seems as though the likelihood of click fraud goes up exponentially.

The content networks always have a higher rate of click fraud - it opens the door to publishers who click their own ads and the quality of traffic is likely to be of less quality vs. Yahoo Search. Even with Search you can have other advertisers clicking your ads to run your costs up.

If you are just starting out, I would stay away from the content networks until you have more experience.
