Nevermind these comments. If some of the people here saw my income / expense sheets they'd die. Life is expensive, especially if you want to enjoy it.

That's a slightly rude comment to make. I'd like to see you start with nothing in the bank, raise 3 kids, take care of a sick adult, and go for kidney surgery... then show me your expense sheets and earnings ;-)
No offense taken or meant, 95% of people don't understand what it's like to have the things I have on my plate to deal with... I manage, and my business is growing and growing, eventually I won't want investments, but it would be nice to get there faster, and share the rewards with others, since the rewards are always higher when you put more into it.

I quit my job when I was 18 years old and started a business with $0.00. Over the last 9 years I've repeated this theme of no or low investment businesses almost a dozen times. I'm not going to make a list of the things stacked against me but I will say EVERYONE has something on their plate.

 

haha a friend of mine did this and made good money. used to loan money to casino players. a bit risky though...

 

can you explain this a bit further? it sounds interesting. are dividends predictable or just as unstable as the rest of the market?

 

hey mad4, i appreciate you looking out advice for me i actually used to make websites... back when templates first came out... turn key sites and sell them. made a good chunk of money. also used to import goods from china and made money too. same with a couple of other ventures.

i always just seem to hit a peak and not able to push through say $20,000 after a year. but in hindsight now i was still so young and just didn't know how to make the most of my money.

i currently have a couple of sites generating a couple hundred dollars through adsense, but that's it. and in terms of big bucks i just think maybe i should turn towards real estate or stocks. with real estate given i can afford the downpayment in the UK i should be able to get a decent mortgage. a property in London is however ridiculously expensive and i wonder if my money would be better in other countries (but htat's for another thread)
