I'm a full-time online marketer, and I handle the webmaster duties. I balance my time between 3 web sites, between marketing them, improving functionality, and doing content updates

I don't feel locked in a room, but I would like to eventually freelance

I see a clear difference between selling products vs selling ad space, feel it on my own back in money terms. Same as the difference between selling products and selling services. That's why I don't do much AdSense.

I do it part time in my spare time, make an extra 1200.00 or more a month for a few hours a day. Not a bad earning.

I hope to make my full time income web related soon.

I have many ideas and I have seen many avenues, however I think many people run websites and also lecture, write and profess about thier area of knowledge, not just build web sites and thats it.

Yeah, do the work of a full time webmaster but dont earn income of a f/time worker :(

Pretty much run all aspects of one website myself - to save hiring other employees but outsource if i really have too.

For me that means monitoring the pc 24/7, customer support, tech support, site maintenance and updates, customer billing, promotion, marketing and link building. Days off are few and far between.

I work from a modest home office set up - take a few hours off each day to go out, excerise or leisure time to keep me sane.

I LOVE being in control of my own biz, having no boss and doing what i want on my own schedule BUT on the downside find it hard to have a social life and earn as much $$$ than if i was working the norm 9-5 boring job. Money is the biggest issue and you are very conscience of budgeting and meeting the bills.

Im a single guy with no strings but if i had a partner or kids there is no way i would be able to do it. Always trying to establish other passive income streams that require little time or start up costs - very hard sometimes.

Not always as fun as its sounds and novelty can ware off - friends and family struggle to understand or support my lifestyle sometimes too.

Happens here, too. The point is for you to take a decision that is important for your own life. Don't overdo things that will isolate you from the real world, and work hard now but plan for a more flexible schedule in the future. If money is not an urgent matter to keep you up and busy, then concentrate on working out a business project that would then work for you while you sleep :)

    Totally agree there,

If you are truly committed and believe in what your are doing then you have to back yourself in to succeed. Just dont be afraid to make mistakes or realise that things dont always work out as we hope.

Money while you sleep, there that would be great - bit of myth often talked about but very hard to consistently capture in my experience. Everything is more saturated online these days and much tougher. But that said there are still big rewards out there!;)

Full time webmaster and student here.
Not dedicated to an income from adsense as most here, mostly from direct product sales.
I know I could probably get away with getting some staff and having them manage it all, but I pretty much run the whole show..
As to the question about feeling stuck in a room.
    YES.
Definetly. I should get out more, but between school, and working till 3 or 4 on school nights..

In a way I want change, and want to get away from it all, but in another way I just cant. I'm dependant on it, and afraid of change (loosing the income, what Im making now).

I'm a full time webmaster for about a year now and love it.
I'm not a morning worker so i dont get up until like 10 or 11am lol.

    - Wake up
    - Check email
    - Check sites and see if they're up and running
    - Put on espn and watch sportcenter for about an hour
    - Take a shower
    - Go out to lunch
    - Work on sites, add new content, develop new things
    - Marketing for about an hour (boring work)
    - Work more on sites unless i have plans to go out and do something else
