All of these things increase physical online time, I would then say the next big thing is anything that simplifies online life, entertains while online or produces resources (money, knowledge etc.) Software as services (including all the Web 2.0 style applications) are slowly picking up speed. Once these are monetized, we will see the new Googles/MySpaces/Youtubes etc....in fact they may end up buying them!

These things listed also have increased self expression (text/blog, audio/podcast, video/youtube). Myspace has brought self expression in all forms together which gives it power...I wonder what the next evolution in self expression is...or is it a phase like the hippie movement and it will eventually phased out?

Do you mean a system like Orkut wouldn't be popular in India?

I think this is the question we all are asking ourselves - I guess its a case of thinking outside the box - who know the next net multi-millionaire miht yet be one of us.

The next big thing will be porn. A friend on the inside tells me porn will be huge online :p

One common thing I see on all the big sites (myspace, youtube, etc.) is sharing. So if you can think of something to share that isn't already being shared, share it :D

The next big thing will be XXXXXXX. It will completely change the whole definition of web 2.0 sites. I was able to get a glimpse of an alpha release of XXXXXXX and I was just absolutely shocked at what XXXXXXX allowed me to accomplish. And it was in alpha! Keep your eye out for XXXXXXX and if you get a chance to get involved, don't miss it! I won't.

No! My comment about Orkut dup was sarcastic - thats all. Orkut is crazy popular in India! I mean - seriously insane popular. It's like MySpace popular in US.

Thank! I didn't think about that actually, but now that you tell us about it, it's obvious, I mean, the first who gets into it will be rich and I bet Google might even buy him out :D

Sorry, I won't share it, my wife won't agree :p
