GOOD places to find programmers...

I need a completely custom programmed website. I'm aware of getafreelancer.com and elance.com. In my honest opinion and based on past experiences, the "freelancers" there are nothing more than script kiddies looking to get by. All my experiences with both services have been grade-F.

Can anyone refer me to a very well-established programming company or person - ESTABLISHED IN AMERICA (or any other country that's main language is english). This is purely do to communication's sake. I can't explain a highly detailed project to someone that doesn't know their verbs and nouns entirely.

Pardon the disguised rant, I'm really just looking for some help here.

    Thanks!

    -Kyle

I would recommend to search Google for web developers. You will find a lot of web development companies. Or look at www marketingtool com for web developers.

You may like this freelance site: http://www.remotehireman.com (included in my sig)
It features an escrow system in order to avoid any type of transactions' problem.
There are good developers in there.
If you need assistance, don't hesitate to drop me a message.

Yes that's my point. 99% of those companies are based in India or just suck in general.

    I'll pass on the spam.

Does anyone really want to help me out?

You could always post your job in the services forum here. There are some really good and honest programmers here who take up freelance work. It might be worth a shot. You could always request proof of past work. The iTrader system here should also help you understand their integrity.

There is also another site, rentacoder.com . There are certain coders there who have a good reputation and such. Maybe you'd want to check the site out.

It would help if you explained a little more as to what kind of work you need done and in what environment?

The best thing you can do is establish a relationship with a single developer and earn his/her trust. It's hard to do that when through conference calls and email.

Yes i totally agree. I started to work there as a coder and having buyer role there for years. The system is working very good. Try to be clear in your expectations in your bid, talk enough with the selected coders before accepting their bid and select the coder if you are sure s/he will solve your problem..

    1. Horrible grammar
    2. Worst way to approach customers
    3. Horrible website
    4. Spamming
    5. Not from the US, clearly
    6. Not an established business

He PM'd me offering exactly what I didn't want.

Well, I usually don't mind people private messaging me about a project I'm looking to do. But it has to be relevant.

Obviously don't PM someone about a job if the job requires that you live in the United States. That just shows that you either can't read, or are just ignorant.

So PM'ing is fine, but only if you are actually fit for the job.

As I was the one who sent the PM, I overlooked you saying the established part, but you did say in the original post:

which does not mean it has to be United States. So calling me ignorant or not being able to read that part is not right. I'm not looking to argue or anything and did not want you to think my PM as spam. I just don't see a reason to say that when my pm was sent without bad intent.
