But...... I need help with the proper format for this. Would people be more interested in a REVIEW of their site? Or a FEATURED STORY about their site? Or an INTERVIEW with the site owner(s)?

Let me know. My PR4 site is http://www.webmasterlabor.com We're thinking of putting these articles in the article section.

I think a mixture of a featured story and an interview. I'm interested in this - any chance you could do it for my site?

Currently not complete or at the proper web address but it gives the general idea.

    Let me know, thanks!

I like interviews better. Review of site sounds too much like youre selling them on something..because most product reviews online these days seem to be just that.

Interviews will also create quite a bit of buzz and market your site easily...think about it :)

What kind of interview questions do you think would be relevant? What kind of questions would readers want?

Do you think asking for a linkback would turn off interviewees?

IMO interviews are a lot more interesting to read than reviews. Readers are more interested to know what site owners have to say than what the interviewer thinks.

Your right on there! I know when I read about up and comming sites I love to read about how they did it and their mentality behind it. Not that it is the right way or wrong way to do it, everyone can add their own touch to how a site is built and grown, it's just interesting to see the different madness behind the methods.

Reviews are ok, but they've been done so many times before.

I'd be more apt to read an interview myself. Every web site has a different story - different audience, different reasons for being started, different challenges faced, etc, etc. If it's a well written interview with a webmaster who really has something to say, I would not only read it but would check back in the future for newer interviews with other sites. Just my opinion.

What would be a good list of interview questions? Should I get "company/site descriptions" from each interviewee?

It really depends on what the website/company does and the person you are planning to interview. Perhaps you can read interviews written by others to get a better idea of what questions you might want to ask. I recently read one on DNjournal.com which I thought was well written. You might want to take a look. Heres the link: http://www.dnjournal.com/cover/2006/december.htm. I hope this helps.
