What is PR1, 2...etc?

Newbie question...sorry about this.

I keep seeing people mention PR1, PR2, PR3, PR4... etc.

What exactly are these? What does it mean?

 

PR page rank is a reputation system. The higher the pagerank the hgher status of the site.

This usually means more frequent crawling to your site. E,g, a high PR site will be crawled daily while a lower page rank site will be crawled weekly.

Page rank depends on the quality (relevant) of incoming links to yuor site.

 

Pr is page rank. Pr means what search engines rate your site as. Higher number means better rank.

Links to site and content of site even how old site is can help page rank. Links from same type of site help get your Pr rank up more than any other links.

Links are your url listed on other sites just in case you need to know that.

Ignore the bit where it says "PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web" because it doesn't. A high PR link to your site has more value than a low PR link - in the words of Orwell "all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others".

 

Page Rank . that google give to site. that show importance of page and optimzation of keywords. Normally when someone want some info or product, he/she use keywords on google. the site come on 1st page have good page rank. so those site get high traffic and also get good sales.

if you install google toolbar, there u can see PR of sites. its form 0 to 10.

to get good page rank, you site need backlinks. submission in directories, search engines, articles, blogs.
it take 3 to 4 month to get good page rank for any site.

pr or page rank is a google made system. in the internet, pages are ranked by pr, by google. the more the pr the better the page is.

google and blogger has a pr10

then yahoo, msn, paypal etc, get's pr9

after that dmoz and other important sites has pr8.

a lot of great site, including this one has a pr7......this is the pr which one can possible achive, with money and time.............

pr5 and pr6 are not tough to achive, if you work hard, have backlinks and unique content, you may possible get to it.

pr0-4 is easy to achive. must of us have that much. though it takes 3-6 months with nice traffic and backlinks, but i feel everyone can manage this much.


there are many factors to calculate pr, and google keeps changing these every now and then.
1) backlinks
2) unique content
3) traffic

this much will help you to achive a higher pr.
