Digg (Sorry - bad IP address)

So I just started using Digg like 4 days ago. I thought I have been using it as I was supposed to - submitting new articles as I wrote them on my site. Hadn't seen much activity really though. Then, today I try to login and...

    Sorry - bad IP address

I take it this means my IP/account is banned? Wow?!?! Anyone else ever experience this? What did I do wrong? Thoughts? I guess I won't be using Digg :)

I guess I don't get the point then. I wrote 4-5 articles for a few of my sites and submitted them all to digg. Isn't that how it's supposed to work? Would that be spam?

If so - I really will have no use for Digg. I thought the point was to submit your stories to see if they could 'catch on'.

    Thanks for the reply!

Are you using a proxy? You would get the same message if you were to connect via TOR.

Yes they most likely saw it as spam I'm guessing. Just make sure your submits are lengthly and have good content. Also try contacting digg and asking them about it.

Sure that's how it's supposed to work. Too bad they set their system up to throw out sites that get downmodded too much. With the idiots there that downmod anything not apple, windows, technology, or video game related most normal sites end up getting banned. I say screw digg, their traffic is worthless anyhow.

What are your articles about? Would you think others would consider them to be spam? Were all the articles about the same thing?

I've received the same error message, even when I've tried to get a new account. I'm amazed they give no warning

They get masses of abuse cases per day - they most likely have no time to warn people.

When you get banned, its usually for a reason - even if your ignorance prevents you from realising what that reason is.

    That's very shortsighted.
Digg traffic is worth WAY more than some stupid adsense clicks.
The amount of natural backlinks you gain from getting the frontpage is priceless.
