Google ad Blending - Input Appreciated

Hi I made my own joomla template purely with adsense and usability in mind. I would like a review on the ads already there - blended well? Thing to improve? Also ask for an opinion on more ads if beneficial and where to add them and what type.

My url is www.sportingiq.com Site has dummy content so far as it isnt launched.

I think you need to have real (rather than dummy) content in there before we can really give you good feedback. Real content will, in turn, bring up more relevant AdSense ads, which will give us a better idea of how well they're blending with your content.

Wouldn't the bottom link unit go against the TOS since you style the site links (Latest News & Popular) on each side of the unit exactly the same as the link unit itself? I'd like to hear other members take on this as well.

Pretty typical blending ;) it's hidden in your site.. I would try to ad another ad unit (try 250 x 250 in your content area using the same font colors). Now they you've got the blending style right, you just need to play around with different sizes.

Yeah I was thinking that, within each article I reckon have an ad block. Will have to teach my bro how to do that in joomla. I took the bottom links around the ads away for the time being but will put them back up.

Agree on this as well, If it's a high paying niche, cram those ads in the content as much as you can :) ... and keeping with the TOS of course ;)

Ok even without relevant text, I can point you one thing. You have navigation links on the left, why do you have same links on the top? You can replace them with Ad unit.

Left side will have partner links when I get them. Would rather not have a column of ads there because I dont really like them.

If I were you I would keep left navigation and replace top navigation with link units.

My original plan was to have a blue strip like the top nav just above the footer with text links ads on theme but I couldnt have multiple ad links as I have them at the bottom also.

I would remove from the bottom and move them up unless you have articles and place the ad link unit at the bottom of the article - which can prompt the users to click after they have read the article

Yeah I am adding links next to the bottom ads to blend them in with other article links. Is there no way to have multiple ad link units?

Google TOS allows 3 ad units per page. Hence it is extremely important wisely use the real estate. Displaying well blended ads above the fold can increase clicks as well as CTR.
