How many websites do you own / plan on owning?

Just going to set up my 33rd website.
Wish me Luck my dear DP friends...

 

We own/run about 20 total and they range from various blogs to video resources to full on community projects. A nice assortment to keep us busy.

what's the cost of developing one website? To develop one site, I spent $300, then 4 months (65 pages) to get it only half done (working 4 hours a day). How it is possible to build so many sites for some of you? How much can one site earn?
Unless you can build one website at a fraction of my cost and work really fast , but wouldn't support and maintenance a problem?

 

It depends on the type of website. Many sites don't requite support, updating & maintenance. Not all sites have 65 pages either. A simple 4 page site that ranks on the first page for a highly searched for keyword can make $xxx+. Monetization options include adsense, promoting related affiliate products, or even selling an actual product on the site.

 

for those of you guys who have more then 10 websites - how much did you spend on your web business already??

For me: i am spending all i earned (not from just web business) until i earn enough to leave %50 for future use.

 

Same here, every penny I earn is spent on developing new sites, buying the content, etc. But, I guess, the main investment here is time. I spend countless hours developing, maintaining my sites.

 

I have 25 so far...shooting for 50 since that is what my hosting plan allows...then I will be getting full use out of my hosting plan.

 

So, the only reason for you to have 50 sites is to utilize every bit of bandwidth/storage you were given?

 

1 website for now. I like to devote time to my projects. I'm not good at spitting out tons of websites.

 

5+ for now planning to stick to 3 major ones

 

I have 1 big one, planning to start a second now.

 

18, plan on doing 90 or about 90.

 

Presently I have 20+. My aim is to have one , one that really successfull, managing multiple sites really hard

 

i currently own 3 three. how many WILL i own? i have no clue. but my rule of thumb is, until that website is self sufficient, created and modified to the best of my ability, serves its purpose and maximizes monetization...then i move to a new one.

what is the cost of building one website? How long does it take to build? My site building 'software' cost $299, I can't afford to build so many without seeing money first fr. my current side.
Can recommend any cheap and good software for website building? I don't know HTML. tks
