Should submitters create an account to list their web sites?

I have 4PR directory for business and professional services only. The problem, right now, is that users hate to create an account to list their web site for free.
The purpose of the account as I explained in the submission page is that users can come back and edit, delete, deactivate( if the web site is down ) or reactivate their web site.

Should I let users just list their web sites without any need for an account or should I leave it as it is?

    Thanks

As a webmaster who submits sites to directories, I would find signing up for an account very annoying. This will probably make you loose some submissions..

The options you are talking about can be appealing to some people.. so what I would suggest is have two options in your website. One where they can sign up to edit their listings, and another one where they don't need to sign up.

If you are going to go with one or the other I would say let users submit their links without sign-ups because it wastes time for them.

I suggest you to give an option at the time of submissions to users if they want to have a username or not. As im aware most of the submitters will submit and then rarely come back to edit it. So this way you solve all your problems.

Hop you like it and give me a Green Reputation for it. :)

I agree. Give them an option for what they want to do. That way webmasters can chose to create accounts, and submitters can just get their job done.
