is it better to have just one adsense block or should you try to have as many as possible (i mean 3 per site and also the link block)??

do you get higher paying keywords or better cpm with just one block??

i m just asking coz i ve seen some sites with only one tiny adsense ad on their site.

It is my understanding that the higher value ads are on the first block and the value will go down as more ads are served. If this is so, then 1 block would serve the highest value ads possible for your site, and a click on this block would be the highest value.

Of course having more blocks allows your visiters to see more ads, adding to the chances they will find something they like and click.

So the best answer is found with research, and trial and error. Some niches are going to have most ads close in value, some will have a large discrepency. Some times click through rate will make up for lower value ads. Every site is differant.

I say have the 3 blocks. Getting any clicks is better than none. Yes one block will have highest per click but might not have ads someone wants.

I notice google will have different types of ads to try to get someone to click on them. I have also seen 2 blocks out of three almost have same ads. That usualy is when they do not have alot of advertisers for the keywords.

more is not always better. try to balance the ads out with content.

the more ads you have the more ads it will display therefore it will display high paying ads with the cheap ads.
