I don't want to spam up this forum with links to others but I need somewhere to ask questions about taxes for business. Can anyone recommend a forum about US tax info.

    Thanks,

    CArl

Yeah, that is what I ran into this morning.

I said, "I build websites, and people pay me to put advertising on them."

    he said, "huh?"

We went on like that for a while. I am trying to figure out quarterly taxes for a sole prop and what I can deduct. This is quite perplexing when you have never waded in these waters before.

Carl, maybe the best for you is to gather any informations from this forum or any other forums that can help you in your clarifications regarding taxes.

Then after, check the agency collecting or in charge of that taxes your business is involved with. Ask also on the scheme of payments; whether quarterly or semi-annual and any other type then, have a choice of your own.

For this procedure, you can have more ideas and knowhow on this topic. Then you can proceed with a good plan for your business.

@renz - I think you re right. I understand that quarterly federal tax and social security payments should be based on what your annual estimation is. I have no idea what I will make this year. I think it is going to me a lot more in the 4th quarter than it will be in the first.

Also, if you do a website for a nonprofit, what can you deduct? I just don't understand.
