Partners no more active in online business then what to do?

    Hi,

In january me and 2 of my online friends started a forum with really nice plans.

We 3 commit to work hard to make this forum good place and to invest money in it. I did all my part and still doing hard for it. But they quit just because they can't afford to put money and have no more time to spend on it (B.S).

I have good plans for this forum but to run need budget. In that case what do you suggest me to do?

    To sell?
    To run myself?

If i run, it's then tough so i am taking another risk loosing my own invested money. I already spent my money on it and to run it well need a good budget.

    What you have to say?

Offer to buy out the part your friends own in it, then run it yourself. That's what I would do.

Either take on new partners or sell it.

Its impossible to really give good advice if we have no idea what the project is (and therefore its worth or any options)

Well have your partners actually invested anything into it in the past ? If no, then move on. You must have found a good network over here. Friends and people with alike business interests.

Take permission from them for a small talk over a proposal, either on phone or via some other medium such as an IM. Prepare a proposal of what you think of and want to be the future of those forums and send it to them. Don't offer something over the board, but yeh make sure you offer them something, like a partnership in advertisement/newsletter give away once the forum reaches "x" amount of members.

I am sure you would find many who would analyse the potential of your forums and would want to invest in them.

I for one, would be waiting for your proposal.

I assume you guys didn't sit down and make an agreement of what happens when one doesn't maintain their role as partner? If so, do what your agreement says. If not, lesson learned. Do what ya can to help you to continue move forward.

It's a very professional looking website that has some potential. I wouldn't sell it (especially since forums usually don't get that much money). I would either buy them out or go on without them and look for new partners. I currently don't have the money, but their are usually a few people on here who are interested in a small investment.

I second that..That's why i always reject people wanted to work with me.Things can get more complicated if the partners are your close friends

I don't want to sell it ... partners don't want anything back...they feel sorry.

Now i am alone trying to start it again but it's hard. Forum is required a good partner and amount like 2k to kick it up with some of my good plans.

    So no selling.

If you have a lot of members in this forum, you can get paid advertising section in your forum and ask big businesses to advertise in your forum. They will get guaranteed clicks.

I saw that in one forum and I checked the prices for the advertising on their forum, they were between $200-500 a month or so.

And this was a paid forum. 400.000 members. You are not going to ask your forums members to advertise, since it is a paid forum (paying for posts in cents!). You will ask big businesses to advertise with you.

Do you get the idea? They get 400.000 members to whom they pay cents, then they get 1 paid advertising on their forum for which big businesses pay $400 USD for one ad!

2k to run this? I think you should start off a little smaller. Don't shoot so high, you'll often miss and run yourself into the ground. The site looks amazing, I suggest you take it steady and try monetizing it to get your startup money back.

I would suggest you to find new partners for the project. If you are very sure that the project is going to be a success, then buy your partners share too (if that is possible).
