I am looking for a dedicated server.Please help me with the best and cheap dedicated server.

• 512MB DDR RAM
• 120GB Hard Drive
• 600GB Bandwidth
• 100Mbps Port
• CentOS Powered

for $65/mon

Will I get less than this ?

In a 512MB RAM how many proxy sites can be hosted ???
To host 20 proxy sites what are the config I need ?

 

$65 is a bit less for dedicated servers.
Go try Godaddy, and get hold of some coupons, you might find a good deal.

 

Indeed, $65 is way too little and you can't expect much for that. If you were about to buy and configure one on your own, you would spend way more than that too... and this would not even include maintenance.

 

I think preices will start falling some day ... because they cannot replace older hardware and probably will sell this server for less money !

Haven't used them, don't know whether good or not, just saw their ad on another forum minutes ago....

 

Well, the thing is that the hardware prices is the smallest part of what the server rental cost is. What makes up the bulk of the cost is bandwidth, salary and utility bills. Of course there are other replacement and maintenance cost to keep the datacenter in tiptop condition too.

With gas prices still at the peak and salaries going up, prices will not really go down that much.

Yes, if you sell the server as a one-time item without bandwidth, utilities and labor cost, you probably can get a good deal but not if everything else is added.

I guess if you up the price to the $100 level, you probably have a better chance of finding what you need from someone who is reliable.

 

Try aplus.net dedicated servers. They have great support. We ordered dedicated servers ad existhosting.com, but their support is unavailable for half a day...
