Help me with my logo

Hi all,

I have been told I need a logo, so I made this:



It's a transparent gif at the moment.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can make that a little more 3-D and not so flat (at least the controller)? (I was thinking some kind of shine on it to bring out the top, not a simple drop shadow.) Am I going to have to redo the whole controller to add the 3D effect? I'm open to making it not transparent if need be. I really stink at graphics, and I prefer to work in PSP (I have 7) rather than Photoshop, but I do have Photoshop 6 (took a college class in it but I still stink at it).

Also, are the colors bad? Can you help me tweak the red yellow blue green so they match a little more, or suggest something else if I should scrap the multicolors?

There's also the option of a new logo if you aren't happy with the one you have.

WOW Gadood, thanks! I can use that for my link buttons definitely, but I also would like to use my controller or something like it... I worked hard on it.

 

use purple back ground

Why purple, dev?

 

cause it'll look different then white. white is common. i think u've to use purple see there is nathing to loose if u use purple background. if tht not look good u can change it any time.

 

Please dont use the multicolour font. I know you're trying to convey that it has something to do with colours. But I think it looks a little bit childish. Colours on the console buttons are enough. You can actually combine Gadood's idea (by the way real nice and professional looking logo you got there!) and yours. What I mean is that you can make the console you draw into the background of Gadood's logo (that's if he doesn't mind you using his/her idea). But don't change the opacity of the console, just put it behind those text. and the buttons area can be converted into the 4 "butterfly" Gadood drew.

 

Do you think Google's logo looks childish with multicolors? I don't see how it looks childish.

 

^^ It is, but its not childish in the way yours is, Google's is more childish in the sense Google is easy to use (ie a child could use it). Yours just screams child because the colors and comic sans esq font.

 

That is NOT comic sans. It was euroference.

I'm sorry if I sounded cranky, I didn't mean to - I just know better than to use Comic Sans.

 

^^ Yeah but it was close enough to Comic Sans were it made it a no no..... im working on something for it give me a couple of minutes

Maybe you would like to add shadow for the console and outer glow so it doesn't look this flat?

 

Hi Kat i will vote for this logo to use caz it looks like a professional one do some minor changes in the patels and go ahead...

 

Well, I can't use that specific logo because my URL does not have the U in it, and I'm having trouble making those oblong ovals look right with the perspective.

A friend of mine was playing around and made me this, what do you think?
