Need 1000$ , where am i going wrong

Discussion in 'General Business' started by Theozard, Mar 28, 2007.

To start with i badly need 1000$ for a project of mine.
A couple of weeks back, i started this thread and got around 60 people enquring for my services..25 of which i made have turned down because they wanted only backend work done and i 30 of them said they liked my previous work and they will get back to me when they require a site and ya so that means from dp i got only 5 people whom i worked/working for.
The point is, i am really good at working with joomla (please read the testimonials) and plus apart from that, unlike other joomla freelancers i don't even over charge people.
Could you'll please tell me where i am going wrong and what should i do because right now i really need 1000$
Please help me out on this one

    Thanks

dude, u need to have patience, i know lot many people who are into php programming not knowing about joomla, so u see there aint many people who wants a site designed in Joomla.

So wat u can do is increase ur rates so that u make more money, only if u think u providing good service. Heck, people will hire you, not becus u're cheap but u're good.

I really hope that u make 1000 bucks for watever reason u need it. All the best mate

Oh ya, patience..i lack that. Seriously, i think i'll wait for a little longer and lets see if people come back. Till that time, i'll work on my programming skills or something.
Although i now know what was going wrong(need to be a little more patient), if any one has any more suggestions do reply
and thanks for the reply protocol ;)

    1. First make it easy for people to find your service and contact you. Post your service on a heap of forums etc.

    2. Make sure your service and work is second to none. That way clients will come back.

    3. Follow up with every client to make sure they are satisfied.

    4. Ask each client whether there is more work for you. Maybe even more important than that ask if they know anyone that wants work done. They may know a heap.

    5. Keep at it, if you follow those steps all you need is time.

its kinda been covered but don't just rely on 1 forum to get all your work, there is a lot of domain/webmaster forums out there. some big some small that you can use to get you more clients.

    Theozard, where are you located?
I need some custom work done for VirtueMart (shopping cart module for Joomla which I'm sure you're aware of), in the coming days. I'd like to talk to you about this if you can do something like this. PM me and we'll talk.

I guess you may be on your way to that $1,000.

I need $4 million dollars so I have a bigger problem - point is if you think bigger $1000 will seem small - I may be a future customer of yours so by letting people know you are there you have already taken the first step.
