I dont see google droping proxies anytime soon they just disallow there ads to be shown on proxified pages.

If they were to drop proxies that would be like dropping rss feed blogs or any other turnkey type of site.

People get there accounts banned by placing there adsense on:

    proxified pages
    proxys with no content
(the proxy must atleast have some kind of text and design)

In my tests that I have done I have a network of 50 sites using very little bandwidth and i make around $50+ a day thats around 3 days into having the entire network online and just having all the sites listed at proxy.org.

Schools also block any domain name with the word "proxy" in it. So when making a proxy be sure not to name it something as obvious as that - or you will be sitting at your computer crying when you get 5 hits a day.

Yeah I thought that was the case.

Do you know whether the word "Proxy" in the content gets the site filtered too? As I have some links to other sites on my site with Proxy in them :/

Since I've put them on though my traffic hasn't dropped so I'm not sure it does.

Surprisingly, there are a lot of *proxy*.* sites that do well even with a cursed name. What I found is come up with a name the kids will remember and it will spread on its own. You will start getting linked from their myspace profile among other places. I have yet to advertise via proxy.org or any topsites.

I see a lot of people building proxy sites and selling them after 1-3 months. They may do proxies long-term, but a single proxy site probably won't last that long.

The other aspect to running a proxy, or several proxies, is that you can use them to divert traffic to your other sites. I have had some success in doing that and even if mine lost their profit-making status overnight, I would hold on to a few for that purpose alone.

So if VC decide I can't have my money for running it on proxified pages what else do you guys use?

They haven't actually told me I can't and it doesn't say in their FAQ but just in case.

Banned from AdSense and AdBrite performs poorly.

I've used Adversal but I think they might annoy my users? I've taken them off for a while.

Just thinking, I should still be able to use Intersistials with VC and they pay quite well.

i run 3 proxy sites. But 2 days ago i got a level 3 warning someone using them for credit card fraud so i have took them down since then. I was making about 20 dollars plus a day with them on adsense. So for the time being i have parked them at sedo and in the last 12 hours or something i have made 12 dollas via sedo which seems to be doing ok.

they are very easy to setup just time consuming to submit to top sites etc. With a solid hour/2 work on a proxy tho you can earn lots in the long run.

Do a search for "proxy" or "proxies" here on DP and you'll find several threads of people who'll make you one for $10-15. You better have great hosting though...don't bother if you only have a shared account.

Yes, at the minimum a celeron dedicated, but if you're serious, then a multicore Xeon or Opteron with gigs and gigs of RAM. :D
