Autoresponder Business

    Hi,

I'm thinking of setting up my own autoresponder business but not sure if its a good idea. I'm thinking of charging about $10 a month for PRO accounts.

Will most marketers (especially those with tight budget) prefer to install and host their own personal version for about $50? Or will they be anyone who would pay monthly for a service?

What do you think? If you were to use an autoresponder, would you pay for one monthly or get your own?

    Thanks!

Depends, I mean most serious email marketers spend like $10,000-$20,000 on software. People will small lists probably will spend $10 a month, but you're competing against big autoresponders like Aweber.

True, personally speaking, I would install a stand alone version for $50 rather than pay $19 monthly to aweber or Getresponse. It just makes more economical sense.

In view of this, why aren't many marketes doing it and rather make monthly payments?

    And that's what puzzling me...

I personally would not pay for such services, but if you're going to charge money for it, do it monthly (at a lower rate) so they can cancel when they want to. (if its a really good service they won't)

    Hi,

Since you won't pay for such services, then are you using a standalone autoresponder for your online biz?

No online autoresponder at all... I mean in the interest of others generally. If you want to make it big :D If I were to open such a business I would try to monetize it some other way, perhaps via affiliates and advertising... and offer it as a free service to others.

You are right. that's why I'm thinking of charging only $10 or less for Pro accounts but don't think the price is enough to have any affiliates, so have to rely on my own promotional efforts.

You will also have to make sure that you are covered on all legal bases, CAN-SPAM Compliant and you have to get whitelisted because people want a high delivery rate, which is why most of the little guys use these autoresponders.

That's one area I will need to look into carefully, thanks for the heads up. Maybe I should just resell the standalone versions instead..
