Yet another cancer that Marijuana may help cure...

(WebMD) Cannabis may be bad for the lungs, but the active ingredient in marijuana may help combat lung cancer, new research suggests.

In lab and mouse studies, the compound, known as THC, cut lung tumor growth in half and helped prevent the cancer from spreading, says Anju Preet, PhD, a Harvard University researcher in Boston who tested the chemical.

    Full article here: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/04/17/health/webmd/main2696726.shtml

Current cancers that show a good reaction to THC:

    Brain Cancer
    Prostate Cancer
    Skin Cancer
    Lung Cancer

Now, with safe methods of injesting the natural plant such as vaporizors and eating it, when will the insanity of it being considered a dangerous drug end?

Plants and other foods hold the key to future medicine if you ask me.. though it'll take a good 30 years before it's believed/used.

I know it is not good, but I still like to smoke, every day, and have been for over 30 years too.

Great article - Thanks for sharing!

Found this after a bit of searching around...

That's more than enough reason for it to be classified as a dangerous drug IMO.

That is talking about the smoke. When you vaporise it or eat it you don't get any smoke. If you smoke tylenol you're going to damage your lungs as well.

If you're ever dying from lung cancer and nothing is helping, please come back to this thread and confirm your current statement.

Marijuana is decriminalized here in Canada. It means that using or carrying under 30 grams (about an ounce) of marijuana is a civil matter - you can be fined, but not charged. On the west coast we have quite a few cafes and shops that allow marijuana smoking inside, etc.

I'm personally a big supporter of marijuana as a social substance and for it's medical properties.

LMAO! This is a funny thread :)

I have heard of marijuana being used as a treatment while undergoing chemotherapy - and when I went through it, I was tempted. The pain was horrible, and it probably would have helped. But I didn't. Why?

My brother used marijuana quite a bit in his teen years - and developed schizophrenia. People say that it could be related to many things - but one thing that sticks out is his dope usage.

As far as a cure for cancer? I think people can twist any data to make it say what they want. It's not going to make me run out and buy a bong any time soon... lol

I agree. I'm not the type of person who would do drugs --- no matter what benefits might come.
