The site is about the next release of the Mario Kart series. Hopefully that will be the name of the game

The site gets about 250 uniques a day, and about 7-10 new members. CTR is bad, about 0.20% but I'm not expecting a great one. 0.50% I'd be very happy with.

That's interesting. I'll certainly change it, but I got an even lower CTR when they are blended. I'll have another stab and chance them to your suggestion for a day or two.

Just the Header horizontal banner? No other ads? If you have a forum - you should be ashamed of asking how to get high CTR. Do you not see how DP displays ads???

Here is a few tips:

First on your header banner change the Link Title color to this color : #01A7DC
Next change the background of the header to this color : #DEDEDE
Then change the URL color to black to match the text.

Next...Well I was going to help you on the ad after every post, but seeing that you have to register, I can't help you. Tip though, it is best to keep your forums visible to guests. You can attract more members this way. If you really don't want guests to see the forums, make some less important ones visible, and the real important (basically helpful hints, cheats, etc) forums non visible.

If you like my post, remember a green is always helpful (only asking because I am just a few reps away from a blob! )

 

The colorrs need to change, for the adsense background color match the exact grey to your forum's background. Also: change the red to the same blue as the rest of your links onn the site. Do you have image and text ads rotating in the forum? As I tihnk image ads would work well for your forum.

 

Thanks very much for your help. I've made the changes that you recommended, so that leaves me just to sit back and see how it goes over the next week or so. As for my forum being locked...

It is only the top forum that is locked, and that is temporary. I experiemented unlocking it, but I got no more visits and hardly any members. When it is locked, I get 7-15 members a day on average. So I opt for the latter, building up a user base so when the game is released I have a mailing list

 

Hmm well the overall website looks alrite but there really isn't many topics. the site looks alittle Short if u get what i mean?
