    On the left of your site use a SOLID background color instead and then use the same color for your adsense's background. What you have right now (a pattern background) doesn't allow the ads to blend in well.

    Placing ads between posts is find as long as you don't exceed the maximum ad units you can have in a page..

    the coloring for the adds is good your eye seems to go to them quite quickly
