Some of the ones I have used such as jots and shadows etc have been so badly spammed that all listings became a waste of time and effort and because of this all my hard work in listing has been for nothing.

This is the best answer. Try them all! The see which is good for you and which is not. I managed to get a PR4 for a blog just from posting on social bookmarking sites. And the most important thing is that traffic is good too.

 

Is social bookmarking overated?

 

Not in my opinion. Over saturated, perhaps.
