    if you put ads on that bar under the header, it would have great ctr... because people would think it was just navigation.

    I've seen it on other sites like that too.

    i think the best places for link units near your main menu and i see that some sites are making good link unit blending on footer of the site

    Ad links should be placed right above your menu items, Also they should be the same color and size of your menu links
