I think he tries to say that Adsense does not allow us to place ads on private sections, pages that request a password to be accessed.
So, placing ads on user CP, like here on DP, is or is not against Adsense TOS?

If you wonder if you can place it some place, your best option is to ask Google. Failing that, if it's about forum placement, maybe see if Digital Point does it. I'm sure there have been enough spiteful people banned to report any ToS violations ;)

If you are talking about tweaking the code "just to be sure" (better safe then sorry & all that) then check with vbulletin.org they have a hack for adsense which helps with placement, and if I am not mistaken, they also have a few threads on how to limit it off of misc. pages.

I can say though, that I do not think it's allowed on auto-refresh pages (such as who's online) as I'd assume that would count as false impressions.

your not allowed to put adsense in areas that are not open to the public, like the CP or submit forms, but google understands that some ad placements would require code modification.
header, column,or any other ads that are shown site wide are ok with google.
