Need some help with my Adsense placement

Hello everyone! :) First of all, I'm totally new to Adsense, so please bear with me. :D I'm running a graphics site and I don't receive very high traffic, so I don't expect hundreds of dollars, but $5.42 for 41 clicks is definitely nothing.

I'm pretty sure something is wrong with the placement, so I'm hoping that some experienced guys can review my Adsense placement and tell me what I need to improve.

    Thanks in advance!

    One suggestion -

Place a linked unit below your menu -

What's a linked unit? Is it like another Adsense ad or something?

    Thanks for the suggestion! :)

    It's an adlink unit.

I didn't even see your ads. The placement is terrible if you don't mind me being honest.

Underneath your welcome graphic image, but above hello and welcome text, I would add a 468*60 banner ad. I would then add a large rectangle ad between your first 2 blog post articles.

Apply this placement to your other pages and your CTR will soar. As for an adlink unit, I wouldn't bother with that. Those require 2 clicks and by making the changes I mentioned, one clicks are much preferred.

    Katy,

Personally I would not mess with your site, because it looks so nice.

But if you want to attract clicks, then your top banner is way too big.

As a designer you will have to think in reverse. This means that you will have to be more blatant in featuring your ads. Right now you are showing off your design skills with large graphics which is appropriate for your site.

Just create another site that is intended to get clicks. ;)

You do not want to mess up your beautiful design.

    Regards

Yeah, thank you timeisnow! :) I do agree that ads make the site look 'cheaper' so to say. I'll probably leave my current ad or make a bigger one on my new layout.

    Thanks everyone!

    Hi there,
I think text links are more user friendly than the image ads, as they load quickly and are not much irritating to eyes. :)

I think you could put a 2nd adblock (the same as the one at the bottom of the righthand side) at the top of the righthand side, where you have statistics at the moment - either instead of the statistics or above it - without spoiling the look of the site.

Side note: Can the statistics be made clickable? I wanted to see the '25 WP themes' and it wasn't immediately obvious how to find them.

    Good luck, nice site!

i really liked the site design and the layout but then i was just looking where are the google ads and i found it at the bottom corner, i guess you need to place it some where on top to get some clicks
