Well i'm going to share with you a little personal experience of mine.

I own an arcade site that gets a decent amount of visitors daily. After about 1 year with the same layout, I just recently made a new layout. I really didn't notice a difference until I tinkered with my ad placement on the page where the games are displayed. My earnings increased by $10 / daily, and that's when I knew I found a winner.

So my advice is, keep changing/experimenting until you find something that fits just right and can bring you in the most money possible.

    Good luck sussane!

if you are not happy with your ctr, you must change it but i think your placement is good. if you add one link unit to the footer of your site, it will be better

I'd worry less about the placement of your ads and more about the way that the home page doesn't (at least for me) show health related ads but rather blog ads. Presumably visitors would be more interested to click on ads related to the topic.

I found topic specific ads on several single post pages. Can you test what would show up if you perhaps reduced the number of posts on the home page?
