How to deal with banned Digg accounts?

Discussion in 'Social Networks' started by dlm, Aug 9, 2007.

    Hi all,

I like using Digg with my websites to help my new pages gain a quick Google SERP boost. I've now had a couple accounts and my IP banned by Digg even though I've only submitted ~ 10 pages of my site over each week (with some Flickr and Youtube content mixed in).

I could get my ISP to change my IP, but that doesn't seem like a great longterm solution since Digg might just ban the new one eventually. What I'm looking for is a Proxy (or several of them) that will let me register and post new stories to Digg. Many (free) proxies don't seem to allow registration...

If any of you were IP-blocked by Digg, how did you go about getting new accounts?

    Thanks.

Show a screenshot when you go to digg.com....please????

I was never banned by digg but I am also panning on creating multiple accounts at digg.com

I would suggest using multiple proxies for each account with different email address.

Why go though all of that trouble for digg. It barely even gets any traffic. SEO work pays out by 100X in the long run.

same happened to me and I had done nothing untoward? My account and blog were banned for digging too quickly.. I had gotten some friends to digg a blog post...

Moral of the story - Be careful where you digg , you might burst a water main :)

I think they have someone look out for this forum. I traded a few diggs here and I got banned. I got a proxy in my signature, but I don't think you are looking for a web based proxy.

I got my blog banned as well... It seems some users didnt like adult content, even tho it is NOT adult content, when u censor the pics and warn ppl, that if they push the picture, they will get uncensored version (no I do not run a porn site, but a celebritysite...yes almost the same I guess!)
But the blog is now banned, much to my dislike, since I got traffic from it!

Who cares? Try running your business legitimately and quit trying to scam the system, and you won't have to waste your time trying to "get around" things. If screwing around with otherwise decent tools is the only way you can promote your site, then that's pathetic, and you probably don't belong in business anyway. Either learn how to market your site correctly, or determine if maybe your site just sucks and that's why you don't get more natural visitors without scamming tools. Either way, fix the underlying problem.

Mine was a temporary ban. I don't quite remember how long (3-8 months maybe) and now I register a new account :D. Just wait it out.
