    hey, i've been reading all these posts and im surprised i still havent got into this proxy thiing. i tried it a few months ago and made barely 50 cents a day from my 2 sites. hosting was a problem too. i recently got my site back on (bout 2 mins ago) and i'm gonna see how it goes.

    just 2 quick things i would like to ask. 1) apart from topsites, where is a good place to get traffic from? (e.g. what do you personally do to get traffic.)

    2) what do you think of my placement/ad blending on my site: www.filtermenot.com

    It's not as easy as some make it sound.
    The most important part is hosting so if that's a problem for you or you're not willing to foot the bill for a dedicated server then you probably won't get too far.

    Ad placement on your site could be alot better or just a design change.
    My eyes are drawn to a blank white spot between your logo and the google search bar.
    I have not had good results with google search so you probably don't want that as the main focus.

    There are many different layouts that will generate a high CTR but for your site with minimal effort I'd just make the logo smaller and get rid of the search.
    Minimize that white sapce between your logo and your first ad and give the first ad a bit more head room with the background color if you know what I mean.

    Thats based on many factors that you must try.

    Traffic, Server Hardware, Hotlinking On/Off, Youtube Extension, Upload Limit, File Download Limit, Proxy Script (PHP,CGI, other...), Block Crap Countrys like China, Iran.....and so on

    well I have 1 proxy website on the moment on my dedicated server and will add this week 10 extra.
    So lets see what happend hahaha.
    And proxy website's are just bulk site's ... not have to work on it only the first day add it to search engine's and proxy lists and finished.
    and to say that i am going to be rich ... nha , just make about 10 US a moth on this proxywebsite with google.
    So 11 would be 110 US a month , that will cover up my dedicated server.

    Speed is very good because i have blocked al crap traffic countries. I allow only us, uk, canada, australia, new zealand, west/middle europe traffic.

    I have smaller traffic then other proxy networks that allow all countries but my server speed is very good and i have only quality traffic.

    Now i make ~ 150$ a month, when the us school starts ~ 300$

    @champ_rock: i have no .htacces because .htacces & mod_rewrite use a lot resources.

    I use the maxmind database with a php script to block the countrys.

    I think your ad placement is o.k. but you can try a few positions or other templates. All my proxies have different designs, so i must try a lot of options to get the best results.

    Anyone have any recommendations on a good ad program to use for the proxified pages? I use adversal of course, but I've tried adbrite and adengage for the top banner spots and neither seem to make much for me. I'm guessing I should use some CPM program?
