    1. Drive around to all the schools and work places world wide.
    2. Pose as either a 12 year old school kid or depressed office worker to gain access to the computers.
    3. Try to access your sites from their computers.

    I couldn't resist.

    PeterHugo:

There is no way to check if your site is blocked.
Even if you notice a huge dip in traffic it could be for many reasons.

Not sure if this has come up before...

I'm trying to put adversal code in phproxy, i am placing it in the banner area on the proxified pages, where i already have some banners just after the following php code

    . ' <input type="submit" name="go" value="Go" />'
    . ' [go: <a href="' . $_script_url . '?' . $_config['url_var_name'] . '=' . encode_url($_url_parts['prev_dir']) .' ">up one dir</a>, <a href="' . $_script_base . '">main page</a>]'
    . '<br /><hr />

Problem is the pops work but it messes up the php code - resulting in not showing IMAGES when surfing!

    HELP PLEASE :)

put the pop up code in a blank page
upload it some where and do an iframe code for that page in the proxified pages

Well, since this is the proxy thread, I think I should also post here about my new project, proxyrevenue.com.

Testing stage is now starting so here is the concept:

Proxy owners mostly get their income from the starting page but almost nothing from proxified pages. The concept is replace adsense (and soon others) for ads from my network, that allows showing ads in proxified sites in the TOS.

This could cause some legal concerns but:

People who is using the proxy isn't supposedly allowed to see the target sites so you aren't stealing from the webmasters.

Adsense is unable to browse through the proxy so ads are mostly non-contextual and about proxies.

Users can choose to strip title, tags, scripts and webmasters usually add banners on the top browsing bar, so this is not much different than that and is a lot better than using popups or intrusive advertising.

    Now, the software part:

The software itself is a modified version of PHProxy 0.5 beta which parses adsense and replaces it by proxyrevenue.com ads. Usage is the same as PHProxy and should be plug and play. Just replace index.php and add prads2.php and you are done.

    Getting Started:

Register at www.proxyrevenue.com and change your publisher ID at index.php
That's all, you are ready to start earning more with your proxy!

    Payment details:

In testing stage, payout will be $5 and payment method is paypal. If everything goes well I'm going to add more payment methods.

I hope you like this idea and let me help you get the most out of it.

    Script is located at:

    sure, no problem.

    ________

Also, I'm starting in the proxy business setting up my own proxy network, but as a beginner I'm still a little confused.

50% of the posts say you must submit to toplists and wait for the traffic to flow and 50% says you must use other ways of advertising.

What kind of methods are the best in your opinion? I want to be sure that I can get a steady income from a proxy before starting to buy domains like there is no tomorrow.

I already posted to many google groups and 2 DP toplists that are just starting and also I have it my sig, of course.

Er, yeh. I'm no lawyer but surely it's just common sense - if you start profiting from other people's copyrighted content without permission, it's not going to end nicely.

So because the proxy is allowing access to a site, that gives it the right to replace any ads with its own? By the same logic, my ISP could do the same to everything I view.. and I know that wouldn't go down very well.

If I found out a proxy was displaying my content with my ads replaced, I wouldn't be too happy. I doubt I'd actually bother to do anything about it but considering a proxy allows any site to be viewed, it just takes one person to take action and you're screwed.

Sounds a bit too risky for me but good luck. I just hope you've thought it through!

Is there a shared host for starting a proxy? I want to start one but don't want to shell out for a dedicated host right now. Any advice?
