    Hi All,

I have decided to try MySpace as a traffic generator for my site. I have open and account, design my home page and located my revenant target group. i have for now 300 friends.

My site promote and sells software solution for this specific target group.

My question is - what is the best tactics to approach my new friends ? does Bulletin is the only option ? How can I increase the amount of new friends - adding them one by one ? I don't want to be seen as a spam...

Any good advice will be most appreciated.

    J.

    These are my favorite:
Create a group about your software and invite all your friends.
Use the blog and invite people to subscribe.
    refresh bulletins frequently (delete+replace)
put repost instructions at the bottom of each bulletin (e.g. reply to poster, highlight, copy, paste, post into new bulletin.
300 is a good start. You will need thousands.
You may also find Stumbleupon works for you. Good luck!

amanamission thank you for your fast respond...

refresh bulletins frequently - every day ? every week ? i don't want to be seen as a spammer that try to push people.

i added 300 in a week, will keep adding more.
By the way, my target group is ages 13-17.

myspace is a horrible source for traffic generation - its just a spam box now - before it might have been good - now its just a waste of time

Have you tried to hire myspace promoters to help you promote as well?

When I refresh a bulletin, I delete the earlier post and repost it. DO NOT repost the same bulletin without deleting the old one. Few of the same users see it each time...people don't spend a lot of time at the bulletin section. You have to figure that your bulletin is effectively gone after only a few minutes for most users.
If I really want to get attention for something, I'll refresh it three times a day. But, really, it's true...the traffic can be poor. I might get 40-50 hits off a bulletin round. I only use Myspace to get the ball rolling on new projects, mostly because my friends list is pretty targeted.

Well, my profile was hosed last week so I am building up a new one. My goal is to build up a network of friends then try advertising services using bulletins.

Do you call all kinds of advertising "Spam". Anyway, I was just going to see if I could get any response.

I consider unwanted or unsolicited advertising as "Spam". I don't think myspace bulletins were made for what you are describing.

Everyone offers services or promotes events and various things on myspace, what I am going to do is along the same lines. I can even offer some kind of discount or something to people who mention my profile on myspace.
