It's very nice, the only thing I'm not too fond of is the buttons on the right. Not sure why, they just don't look as professional as the rest of it...

    thanks for your input!
i agree, that buttons don't look professional, but i was sorta going for a mixed theme that was a bit "cartoonish/web 2.0ish"... and i was stuck when i made the buttons and i figured it would be cool if i made the buttons open up the text menu of the categories.

I don't care for those buttons either, but the rest of the site looks really good. Nice and fresh design - good work!

My opinion only the horizontal button, it's better use the gradation for the light blue color to few light, it'll more nice looking. Also for the hover, if you use duotone, better use duotone on hover, not single color

It's a clean design, well done. I'm not sure how advanced you are in designing in general (or just a newbie to photoshop), but many non-graphic guys who start, try to apply ALL filters in photoshop. You can probably imagine what kind of parada that'll looks like. But your design looks clean, except for the buttons, as mentioned, it looks pretty well (and the basketball ad is irrelevant.)

I like the design too. The colours are very good however I agree with the others about the buttons.
But again it is pretty good for a first design! Well done! ;-)

Very nice colorsheme, I like it :D
In my opinion, the buttons aren't that bad, however a bit too big for this clean design.
I wonder it was never mentioned as yet, but the edges of the mainpanel are bad cut as well as the edges of the buttons. Let me guess - you made them with the eraser? ;)

All in all, I like the design and it's awesome you did it as your first one.
Edges are pixel-by-pixel work, if you create them this way.
Rounded Edges are well to realise with shapes!

I'm quite impressed that this is your first, very well made.
I would only suggest rounding out your corners, instead of the current "choped" look.

    Cheers,

    Rick.

thanks everyone for your input. I'm thinking about changing the buttons but i don't have any ideas yet on what to change them to.

I needed to adjust "radius" and thats why they lo and looked crappy and chopped... but take a look at my revised design and let me know if the edges on the white background look smoother than the original....

The Revised version looks allot better!
Might be wise to either square off, or round out the edges on the light grey backgrounds for your right google ads and navigation.

keep up the good work :)

It's nice but IMHO it's nicer if the button fontsize is smaller..

I like the color scheme. Regarding the buttons, will be nicer if using round corner and smaller text. Too much ads for me though :) Good work mate

i like the design and color scheme, ur buttons on the right button with more gradient black to white would be nicer, and the rounded edges doesnt seem to be really rounded,..

    everyone's a critic! hehehe

Looks nice. The revised edition was done well, I see you took the critiques seriously, that's awesome. Also, I'm just curious as to how you are going to do the sliding menu thing with your buttons? Javascript? I'd be curios to know...
