1) Regarding hosting, my advice is to shop around. Don't limit yourself to looking into just 2 proxy hosts. thewird has some good offers, I do as well. I just want to be helpful and not promote myself so I'll leave it to this. The main idea is to look around and see what suits you best.
3) Regarding blocking countries, we can get into philosophical discussions about the freedom of speech if you want to but I am guessing that you don't have the time. So best practice says that you block China because a small number of people use a huge amount of bandwidth (at least in my case). Other people have mentioned that Chinese traffic visits a lot of porn sites etc. Iranian traffic returns very little clicks (and hence adsense revenue) but I'd say don't block them. Most of them are just trying to reach the rest of the world through the internet since they are heavily censored by their government.
4) Regarding CPM: I don't think any serious company would accept to pay you without providing your Tax id.

i get a lot of visitors on my proxy, but very low CTR back a while i'd get 4% CTR, now i get 0.50% on good days closer to 1% ... what do I do???

 

Most Proxies have low CTR, thats why CPM was invented!

 

I've heard a few people are switching to Canep Media for popups. Is that a better option than Adversal?

 

I would be interested in this also, since I stopped using php proxy my click thrus have gone from thousands to hundreds (using adversal)

Canep Media does not support popups, we only support popunders. With that said, we allow publishers to select a minimum CPM rate that they are willing to accept for their impressions, and then allow them to run their own default popunders if we cannot fill the impression. Trying out Canep Media carries virtually zero risk. There is no better option out there, some sites convert better with Canep Media, some with Adversal, until you take the initiative and test out the ads on your site you will not know what is better for you.

 

In my opinion Adversal owns all.

I make as much or more from Adversal than I do from Adsense!

you probably have a file called index.html in the same folder. There can only be one index file. Make sure you delete any others.

 

You must add a special line to the apache config file so that it recognizes index.php files aswell as index.html. Unfortunately I do not have an installation of Apache on this computer at the moment, nor do I have time to search for this exact line.

Are you using some sort of redirect within the index.html file? Why not just go directly to the index.php file?

The apache configuration file is called httpd.conf there is going to be a line in the configuration file that starts with DirectoryIndex and then lists several file names such as index.html and index.htm. Add the file index.php to the list and Apache will load is as a default page.

I think it's because you renamed the index file to index1 or index2 instead of deleting it.

PS: DirectAdmin is down for the moment. I have no idea why.. FTP works fine though.

 

You usually put files in public_html folder

Now go up one level and look for the folder "tmp" - open it and you will find multiple folders

You can delete the following

analog
webalizer
webalizerftp

Warning: This will delete all your traffic stats with analog and webalizer

However, AWstats is just fine and more readable so better keep it

You can also disable analog and webalizer from running again for your account from cPanel

I am sure this has been asked before but how much money can be made from proxys? I thought that proxys were like the hardest market to crack into because they are everhere. So what do you guys make out of them>??

 

Well it depends on your marketing methods and time availabe

Some people only earn a few $'s a month and some earn $1000's

I started 100 a week ago and went for more and use little promotion to get them going all free and now im making $15+ a day in total

All from free advertising which tuck me about 1 hour in total and a few hours to set them up
