    I think its Good.

    Not bad, but ok.

Someone recommended me PHProxy as best.

Its best if you have no money, otherwise cgiproxy is better by a large margin.

    Why?

And what amount does having money mean?

I'm willing to invest $30 for my first month to see if I get results (not including domains), does this mean 'no money' or 'money'?

I'm no proxy guru but yes if you have the funds cgiproxy is by far better just resource intensive.

I understand that, but what amount is 'funds'.

Funds could mean $1, or it could mean $1,000,000.

    Which amount is it?

I'm sure thewird could better help you in pricing you with what would suit your needs. But seeing you would just be starting out a vps would be suitable, check out wdservers.com for pricing

Basically if you can't afford a dedicated server with 2GB of ram you shouldn't be running CGIproxy. You "could" start out with a VPS with 512 ram minimum if its brand new proxies but it isn't going to last very long for a variety of reasons.

2-3 years ago when I started I was in dept for like 6-8 months because I couldn't keep up with proxy growth on cgiproxy. I constantly needed to add more servers to the cluster and at the time the best you could get was a Dual Opteron 246 machine with 4GB of ram which cost $300 /month + $400 setup (or something near there, I can't remember but it was pricy). That was the best time to enter the market. One week proxy = 50k page views /day. Good times...

Just add a cron for rebooting it.

Also you can use shell script for calling reboot command. And call that script with cron on every hrs

but I dont think it is a good thing to reboot on evey hours.

It depends on the server's operating system but try looking into cron.

Do you know about any plugins I can add to phpproxy to maximize compatibility?
Is zelune better, if so how?
Also, does cgiproxy work with facebook/myspace/bebo?
Are there other php proxy scripts that are really good?

I see cgiproxy is good however I know php, so that's what I would like to stick with if possible. Kinda have a lot of questions >.>.

(FYI: server load isn't an issue however I would like to be compatible with as many sites as possible for returning visitors)

    Thanks

    i dont think so
its ok if you have the PRXOY word in your domain name
and if it was true , then Proxy.org must have no traffic at all , but we see its one of the biggest ...

    and Hosting ?!
you would have to buy a VPS , dedicated server for $$$
    or order a proxy host
i think Hagio Host is the thing you are looking for
choose the package (proxy host & proxhost)
    :)

there is no point just not using them now if you have registered them

If you dont want them tho i will buy them for $5 from you :D

Also for hsoting depending on your budget i would go for tech entrance or the wird
