Successfully company like facebook is always interesting for the big company like Microsoft. This is only speculation, if this isn't trust source, I personal don't think so.

If the number crunchers produce some good looking bottom lines then it'll be a done deal. The big prey on the small and the global corporations prey on opportunities to deny their competitors.

In my opinion Microsoft is close on the heals of Google and won't want to miss any tricks.

I hope not. Facebook is a great website for social networking and I don't want Microsoft to invade and ruin it with their Windows Live ID program.

MS bought a 1.6% share in Facebook for $240 million plus an exclusive advertising deal.

FaceBook is worth $15 billion (about 1/5 of Google's net worth) I don't think anyone will be forking out that much anytime soon. My guess is FaceBook is past the point where it would make sense for a company to buy them out.

I think the owners of facebook should put it up for sale in the range of 2 billion dollars and call it a day. They do not have the kind of resources to fight google and google is looking to take them out.

I don't think that there is any way that Microsoft would buy Facebook. Microsoft does some dumb things but I don't think that they would do something this dumb, not to say that Facebook isn't worth it I just don't think that they would want to own Facebook. They already have an exclusive deal to do the advertising on Facebook I don't see them wanting anything else.

Its not worth $15 billion.. thats the problem. It would be stupid to buy facebook.. it like other social network sites start to die in a few years.. net mass users are like rats moving from a to b . myspace aint been talked about much now and its dying slowly.. just like friendster . Facebook wiill be the talk of the past in a few years.. another site will pop up and the net mass will move on to that. $15 billion would just be a stupid investment in a short term success business that u get in any social network.

well facebook is launching a new ad network called "social ads" and apparently microsoft gave facebook 50 mil $. that could be to support social ads, or maybe a start to buy it.
