Yahoo Search Marketing and Me $199 Coupon Story

    The story goes like this:
    I have $199 coupons for YSM,so i applied for new account with one of them. This is the conversation between me and Yahoo via emails:

    Me: i add $199 coupon when i open account.Is it going to be added?

    YSM: We received your e-mail regarding the promotional credit.
    After reviewing your account we see that there is a promotional code in
    it however there is no credit that is associated with this code if you
    sign up on your own. The promotional credit is for our assisted sign
    up. If you want to do the assisted sign up please call our sales
    department at 800-730-2563 and they will assist you further.
    We are sorry for any inconvenience this matter has caused you.

    Me:How come there is no credit,i use this link:

    I went with self serve $199 credit toward clicks.
    (this is real.When i applied there was $199 credit toward clicks)

    YSM:Thank you for your e-mail regarding your account. We will be happy to
    assist you with your concern.We have the promotional code applied to your account. The process to get the credit applied to your balance will take 2-3 business days to be fully completed. If after 3 full days the credit is not applied,please contact us for further assistance.Thank you for choosing Yahoo! Search Marketing.

    here is the funny part:

    Me:credit is not applied

    YSM:Thank you for your e-mail regarding your promotional credit. We will be
    happy to advise you with your concern.After further reviewing your account we see that there is a promotional code in it however there is no credit that is associated with this code if you sign up on your own. The promotional credit is for our assisted sign up. If you want to do the assisted sign up please call our sales department at 800-730-2563 and they will assist you further.
    (when i check the link with the coupon,it was removed,WoW)

    Me:Hello Yahoo,
    Thank you for your e-mail regarding my promotional credit. I will be
    happy to advise you with your concern.After reviewing my account i can see that there is promotional code in it, however there WAS credit that WAS associated with this code if i sign up on my own (as you can see in the attachment that i provide specially for you). This code mysteriously disappear after i apply for the credit. This is funny and sad at the same time. If Yahoo need some money,i will be more than happy to donate my $30 that i used to open the account with. You could've just tell me that Yahoo does not have money at the moment.If you have any further concerns please do not hesitate to contact me again. Thank you for choosing Me.
    (yes,i have screen shot from the coupon :D)

    reach you. There is not a screenshot attached to the previous two
    e-mails that you have sent us. Please resend the screenshot so that we can
    apply the credit to your account.The Promo Code that was associated with your account has since expired;however, as a goodwill measure, we are able to credit your account $100.00 to go towards future click-throughs on the account. If you would like to receive this credit, please reply to this e-mail requesting the credit. If you would like us to apply a promotional credit, we need to have the screenshot sent to us or the link that was used to sign up
    for the account with that has the Promo Code listed on it.
    We sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience regarding
    this matter.

    Tell me if this is attached nicely.

    Me:I send the same attachment to 4 emails at the same time and you are the only one who did not received the attachment?????? Don't tell me that there is no one there who knows how to open attached file.Do you need help with this?I'm sending it again and i'm sending it to one of my other emails together.So,if i received the attached file than you should too,right?
    Please don't go so low and tell me that you are giving some "goodwill" credit to me.I'm in marketing for more than 7 years and i don't need your "goodwill" credit.Just want the credit that i applied for.I'm respected member on many webmaster forums and trust me,you are making Yahoo look vary bad.Just use the "goodwill" credit to pay some classes for somebody to learn how to open attached file.

    And the story goes on,i'm waiting for their email again:D

    Thank you for contacting us in regards to getting the promotional credit you saw advertised. We apologize for the trouble you are having getting the credit applied to your account. After reviewing your email we found that there is no file attached to it, however, we understand your frustration and have submitted the paperwork to have the $199 promotional credit applied to your account balance which should be completed in 2-3 business days. Again we apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you and appreciate your patience in this matter.



    Again they didn't find the attachment,so i just send them link to photobucket:).I wonder what they going to say now.

    That really sucks. I was about to sign up with yahoo with a $100 coupon voucher. Hope they don't pull that same crap on me. Why can't companies keep their word anymore, and stand behind the customer is always right? I have a million stories about companies with sucky customer service.

    This is comical. Almost every company, large or small, suffers with some weak employees which means some customers get good service and others get bad. I'm good at finding the weak links - I usually get bad service and stupid answers. Sounds like you got some of that, too.

    I rang their customer service once, and they didnt seem to know what they were doing, it also seemed like an indian call centre, which doesnt inspire me with confidence !

    As long as we show the proof.. they cant deny the credit....... just take a screen shot of the credit and keep it safe... if they deny the credit then show them... they will give the credit.. it happened to me a couple of times.......
