    Hi there,

I'm not an adsense expert by any means - or any kind of marketing expert, for that matter - but two things occur to me after visiting your site :

First : What kind of traffic are you sending to your site ? Are they really interested in your subject ?

Second : You've placed your adsense blocks in a place where the reader has to move away from the text
in order to see the links. They're not integrated to the normal flow of reading. I'd try to put them between
articles or paragraphs or, at least, on the left hand side of the screen.

Also, I'd try to hyperlink keywords and send readers to affiliate links, or use something like Chitika - I think that's the one - that does sth similar.

I'd also check spelling and the general location of sections on the screen. For some reason, everything in your site is on the opposite side of where I'd look for it. Then again, maybe it's me :)

Anyway, you seem to be putting a lot of effort in what you're doing and I like your stuff. Don't give up !!

The ads are not overly related, maybe you should look into affiliate sales.

50 uniques a day is not going to help you much. Optimize your ads properly and submit your site to Stumbleupon and try and get 20 stumbles for the same link. ;) You will get about 1000 uniques or more. Depends upon the tags you entered while submitting.

Hi ... know the feeling. Got my uniques up to an average 12,000, with 50,000 page views, a day, before any serious clicks. At that only, a few clicks. Big jump after about a year on line, that was last July. Continued slowly, improving with accumulation of back links. The PR rejigging lead to another noticeable jump.

I'd say, build a great site, which you've done, submit to free directories and other links and just keep working it, you built it, they will come. Patience is the key, for on-line or off-line business.

Hope this helps. I like the usb keyboard, and may buy one from you.

    Good luck.

As ferfer mentioned...get some ads there in the middle with the text, or between your posts...I think that will help some.

First off you should get rid of that Theme. When I scroll it the ads kinda go distorted.
I can see visitors noticing that and leaving becuase its irratating...

Also with a different theme with more article width, you can blend ads into your posts with a plugins like Mighty Adsense

    p.s I'm using Firefox

Alright cool yesterday I got 6 clicks and around 200 uniques.....seems to be working since I moved it to the left :)....I am going to look into adding a link unit to because they seems to work pretty well and you can blend them better....planning on reaching $2.00/day mark by the end of November

I know this is a stupid question to follow up:...

but... what exactly are "back links". Just links within your website to back and forth between pages? I've heard about this a lot, but don't really know what people mean by it.

    Thanks.

hello there, backlinks are very simple it is your websites link on another website.......it can get a little confusing but it helps rank you higher in the search engines and you will want back links on similar and popular sites to yours this will help even more...kind of a simple explanation but hopefully that helps

How do you get your website link on other people's websites? Asking them? Joining "directories"? Do you have any suggested directories or sites where I can submit my website?

    Thanks!

there are hundreds of thousands of directories out there but google has been not giving them as much juice because they are used solely for the reason for ranking higher in the search engines...you have to understand one thing googles goal is to get the site with the highest qaulity at the top not the one that can submit it to the most directories so they have changed there formula to give directory backlinks less power.....But yes there are many directories look for good pr ones and submit they will still help a lot but do link exchanges to you can do this with people in the link exchange section it is annoying but it is free if you do not want to deal with that then you can buy good backlinks that will help you rank in the search engines....that should exaplin most of your questions

I have to disagree with you. I have a site that is two months old and its a pr 3. Not that I really care about pr, but it holds 15 page 1 listings (multiple in all search engines) for various keywords. This site makes me money as do my others.

The only links to this site are from free directories.

    Getting back on topic...

Your ads need to be placed directly in front of the readers. Place them in the center of the page under something that is read. Placing ads on the left side of the screen, while convenient, is probably the worst location for them.

If you are having problems with irrelevant ads displaying, get the adsense preview tool and login to your adsense account and block them.

Thanks for the tips on the adsense placement....also as for the backlinks from all free directories I am thinking towards the future when google will make directories useless and they are already moving in that direction......BUT they do work now I had like 200 free directory submissions and I was ranking number 2 for ipod touch news and other high keywords so they still do work...:)

Try and see if you can put googleAds in between the posts, that way when people are scrolling down from one post to the next it will show up a google ad inbetween
