    Hi

I run a German patients forum for a little over a year now.

    http://www.patientenfragen.net

I am constantly working on my AD placement and blending and so far I am quite happy with it.
The earnings increase about 50-100$ each month.

However I really would like to have some honest opinions from people not involved on my site to better objectify how I am doing.

Do you see anything that could be better optimized?
    What do you DON'T like?

Please be dead serious and honest with me!

Just in case my blending is to good:

1 Leaderboard + 1 Link Unit on index
1 leaderboard, 2 links units and 1 button on forumdisplay
Guests: 1 leaderboard, 2 link units, 1 Large Rectangle and 1 button on showthread
Members: 1 leaderboard, 2 link units, 1 standard banner and 1 button on showthread
1 Square and 1 standard banner on Blog home, blog entry and blog list

    Thanks

    StarBuG

Nice placement. I don't see anything that could better your placement but my advice is to change the position often. That because your daily visitor will get used to the ads placement and they will ignore it.

Very handsome homepage, did not dig futher. There is a lot of dark, why not try turning the top links ad to a white background. A little white up there would make those linked words pop more. Same advise for the 728 ad at the bottom. In addition to testing white down there, consider a more rounded corner style to offset the square corner design throughout the rest of the design. Not knocking the design, just wondering if floating a rounded corner horiz ad might lighten things up and encourage clicks. Report back if you try it. /Best

@format: thanks for your opinion, even though I don't think it will go very well with the design I try the rounded corner version on my front page.
This ad is very bad performing so far because it is below the fold so that it does not hurt to try.
I don't like the look very much but I am willing to give it a week or so.

What do you all think (of this and all the other ads of course)?

The white background for my link unit is not a good idea. It would totally break the design.

why are you asking for advice if you aren't willing to try the suggestions?

Not a bad site considering it has all this gibberish on the front page..get rid of that and you've got yourself a website.;):)

    Nice placement by the way.

First, not all advice is good and you definitely don't need to follow every peace you are given (jump, lemming, jump).
Second I did implement one suggestion, even though I am not sure if it is a very good idea, so I AM willing.

If you work on ad placements as long as I do you sometimes need outside opinions on your work and maybe some fresh ideas.
However my experience helps me to judge the quality of the suggestion and if it is worth trying to implement it or not ;)

So anyone has more outside opinions or fresh ideas for me?

    Any help is greatly appreciated
