Do you think Americans getting poorer ?

They'll get back up again, I'm sure. They just need to have a better president. A president that can actually think. It amazes me that there are more american soldiers leaving their posts in Iraq because they realize the war has no purpose at all. Americans have brains, they just have a brainless president.

 

Whew whee. I am brand new to this forum and the very first thread that I pop on to is full of seriously misinformed America haters!
Number One Americans are not getting poorer(although there are many in our communist sympathizing media, that would love for you to beleive this). The statistics clearly show that our individual per capita wealth is growing each day and this is spread almost even among all socio/eco populance. Thus you will notice that there are no hordes of people crashing our borders trying to get out of the country.
This absolute economic growth comes in spite of having to war with those that would attack and kill our innocent
citizens in the name of what ever insane justification the America haters can imagine.
As for how much we spend on this defense(war). Not near as much as we spend, To feed, cloth,educate, medicate,and entertain every lazy, irresponsible, uninspired, bum on this planet.
There are many in this country that believe that we should fully unleash the power of our economy and military on our enemies to solve this problem. I am not One of them. I believe that democracy and free market interprise will cure all ills.
For instance, as America turns away from fossil fuels to produce the energy that fuels our economic growth, We in turn shut off a great deal of the funds that go to fund terrorism around the world. This One example of free market interprise helps clean our natural environment and will save us Billions in defense dollars at the same time.
This trend has only just begun and already many Americans(myself included) are now burning ethanol made from American corn in our automobiles. Honda has just started to market a new hydrogen fuel cell auto here in the states, So its just a matter of a few short years before the oil profits that finances much of the worlds terrorism will start to suffer.Some would argue that they will continue to sell what we don't buy to the Chinese. This is true,but only for the short term, As the Chinese reverse engineer and boot leg every American, Japanese, and European product that they get their hands on,They too will see the benefits of alternative fuel for energy. You can already purchase China's version of the Apple Ipod,John deer Tractor, Anderson flexo folder gluer,etc,etc. Their total disregard for copyright and patent law will make it easy for them to cast off the chains of imported oil.
As another America hater put it "All empires will crumble" (I assume that means that America is an empire), I agree all empires to date have crumbled, or at least diminished greatly from what they once were.
This does not apply to America, As America is not, and never has been an empire. We are the greatest bastian of
Free peoples in the history of human kind. I also have to assume that empire crack is just wishful thinking on your part. My question to you is, If America were to crumble and the boogie man comes to get you......Who you going to call? France? Russia? China? When drought,earth quake,Warlords,Tidal wave,or any other diaster strikes around the world, America is there first with the most. For our compassion and generosity, we have come to expect only more ridicule,and hate from the world, including our neighbors to the north and south.

As for the statue of liberty. Maybe we should give it back to the French, so that they could gaze apon it and reflect back to a time in their history when they stood for Liberty for all, and not greedy, corrupt government that will do anything for a buck, including supply nuclear technology to states that support terror (like Iran).

We have a saying here in America about the French,"They are always There when they need us". This is true of most of the world these days.

Just keep in mind that if the rest of the world were strong enough to take care of themselves, America could keep her boys home.

Illegal immigrants, do indeed get welfare in many cities in the US. They also receive free health care, Free education, food stamps, and many other generous hand outs. They have started to demand that we speak their language as apposed to them learning english, like the millions of legal immigrants before them. In most of the countries that they come from, If you were to be caught sneaking in, You would be jailed immediately. In light of these facts, It appears that someone else needs to check his facts and we the American people will decide when the billions that we spend is a waste, or for the good of our security. Some Americans would say that the Billions we spend on foreign aid is a waste, but again this is for Americans to decide.

 

In my state, all you need to collect welfare is a drivers license... and you don;t need to be a citizen to get a drivers license.

They don;t ask for your SSN.

If it's true, it should be find out by Americans self. There are many reasons behind it not a single one. Hope people will soon overcome from it.

 

The gap between rich and poor is getting bigger so most people in the world gets poorer.

 

I'm in the US on an F1 student visa. When I went to get my drivers license last Thursday, I was required to bring my documentation showing my legal status in the USA - read: Passport, visa (F1 student visa), etc.
Then I was issued a temporary license until my visa runs out. If you come over from anywhere else in the world, you get a 3 months visitor visa - in which case you get a 3 months drivers license.
Unless you're a Canadian, in which case you get a 1 year temporary license regardless.

 

You see there is your first problem as with the other over patriotic Yanks. Just because people speak negative against your country doesn't actually mean they hate it. Its the old you are either with us or against us attitude.

Now run along solider boy, I hear Iran needs an invasion to secure world peace.

China is probably going to be the next super power of 21st century.
USA was the super power of 20th century.
UK was the super power of 19th century.

Even now, given a chance most people from any part of the planet will try to immigrate to USA legally or illegally.

 

it's because the ones making the decisions are doing so for their own benefit, they could care less about the citizens of this country.

There's a lot of them here. You just have to learn to deal with it. And when you have time post stuff that more reflects reality to oppose the broken english, half baked rhetoric.

 

Yes America is getting poorer as a country, but please educate yourself so you as an individual do not have to be this way. Start off with Robert Kiyosaki's Books. They will help you out during these times of uncertainty. Start filling up your asset columns that put money on a monthly basis into your income columns. Just do not depend on your job for income. Focus on the 4 asset classes. Business, Real Estate, Paper Assets, and Commodities. Build up your BI Triangle in your personal life and business life. Like he says. Knowledge is the new money...
