FireFox is open source so they do not count:D

Anyways the other companies do it in subtle forms. By leaving certain parts of the software still installed on the OS. Its just that they don't tell you you cannot delete their software. BTW the AOL browser uninstalls perfectly. Problem I have with it is it, since it is on so many CD's it installs back automatically.

Umm, how does that work? Being open source makes it no different. Most companies do not leave it installed, certainly not to my knowledge, except, occasionally, for saved data.

I was referring to my experiences with other AOL software on a friend's computer, it just constantly failed to uninstall. I agree with you on the CD front, it's a pain in the arse to have software auto-installed when it's like trench warfare to get rid of it.

I like internet explorer previous version and not the latest 7 ..Because it consumes lots of system memory ...

firefox is far far better than IE 7 ...

Netscape also seems to be good

I personally loved Internet Explorer 7 once it came out. But once you get something and use it for a while, you just get bored of it sometimes or you need a change in life. So i upgraded to a more basic setting such as Firefox and i've been using it for the past month. :)

Since its open source its not really by a company.....kind of like PHPbb. Not saying all opensource products are like that but FireFox is.

Well I got AOL to uninstall. And why I did is it takes up too much system resources.

That's a good way to sell your product without getting taxed for the actual product sales.

like many other users on here, i use FireFox. i wouldn't even have any version of IE installed on my machine if i didn't need them to cross-check websites.
