I use IE, because I'm a webdeveloper so I can't avoid the most popular browser ;). FF is slow with all that extenstions installed, but I think IE would be working the same with 20 or more plugins. If you are using clear FF without any extensions, it runs somoothly like IE. One of the solutions for FF memory consuming is to install FF portable that takes a lot less memory ;).

The main thing that gets to me with FF is "server timing out". Sometimes its impossible to get onto DP because FF keeps timing out.

    Hi

I primarily use FireFox and LOVE IT!

FireFox in my opinion has so much more to offer than IE 7,more plug-ins & add-ons.

I also find that browsing speed is much faster, as well as better security!

I used to be a long-time dedicated IE user, but not anymore! lol

I highly suggest you give FireFox a try, you'll be glad you did!

It does take a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, It ROCKS!

    Later,

It does not really take getting used to unless its the insane memory usage.

What I meant was the layout is a liitle different, it took about 5 minutes for me to get used to!

Yeah, I know, but it still's a great browser!

For me IE just a wastage consuming some precious space of my hard disk. Since I started using firefox, never even thought of opening IE for even once

Yeah. The main part that was took a little while was the home back forward and history buttons. In fact it took me a couple minutes to find the history button.

Wow, ummm. No offense but IE in general really sucks. Mozilla is teh awesome with browsers. It displays everything crips and PNG's, etc. IE7 has always given me trouble. Mozzila rox.

I heard you on the PITA (IE), why is it that when I search for a term on the page, once I navigate to another pager I have to pull up the search dialog again and RE-ENTER the word I am searching for.

maybe there is some ghey check box to fix that but

I use the following browsers in the following order:

    Safari (im on osx)
    Firefox2 (OSX version)
    Firefox3 (OSX Version)
    Internet Explorer (windows)
    Firefox (windows)
    Camino (OSX)
    Opera (OSX and windows)

I use so many because I also design and build websites so need to check for cross browser compatibility on popular platforms (don't have a linux box) so cannot test yet, got to use osx as closest.

The reason so many people are liking Firefox now is because they haven't tried Opera.

Perhaps they like features from Firefox which they do not realise was copied from Opera (whose users have been using it for years).

Chyeah. I believe Opera came out with tabbed browsing in the early nineties. 93? 94?
Opera filed a complaint about microsoft bundling their PC's with IE. They think people should have a choice.
