How to get on Digg front page?

Discussion in 'Social Networks' started by Bob Mill, Dec 20, 2007.

So, it's an easy question with not so easy answer, right?

Has anyone got a clue, or, even better, any experience?

Do I need to have thousands of diggs or what?

    Thanks!

I've seen articles on the page with 39 diggs and thousands of diggs. It all depends on how fast the diggs are coming in and who is digging them. I really wouldn't waste your time with it..... but you could buy diggs at subvertandprofit.com

The best way to make the frontpage is to submit content that the digg audience cares about, like:

    - Anything to do with Apple
    - Nintendo Wii
    - Ron Paul
    - Firefox
    - How great Kevin Rose is ;)

A picture of your cat falling out of a tree works well too hehe.

Yes, that's right, tonybogs. I think anything else beside those things will be hard. You also need to do some "blackhat" method as well like exchange diggs and buy diggs.

I got on the front page with an article about mortgages, I still get traffic from digg for that one article, that was over a year ago.

You just need to write good content that people will find useful and accurate. It doesnt really matter what the subject is, Once a few people start to digg it its like a snowball effect.

I find digg traffic to be quite crappy though really to be honest.

Well, if your site is about Wii or funny things like cats or dogs, you don't need to write any great content. Just post it, exchange diggs, and viola...

haha yeah, diggs a bit niche like that, but if you have good content the people who dugg you in the first place start to add links to your site from their blogs and sites, it really is phenomenal the amount of free traffic that comes from there, it crashed my server for 6 hours the first time i did it because i wasn't prepared for the sheer numbers at all.
Launched the site on the tuesday and got 17 visits, submitted to digg that day, the next day 4,658 unique visits, the day after that, 128,000 unique visits.....

Only thing I could tell getting on Digg front page is not a fair game, you have to play tricks.

You need hundreds of diggs to get the frontpage. So you must mind how to get the hundreds of diggs.

Not really, no. There have been articles promoted to the front page with diggs in the 30's. Just write nice, unique content.

Monitor DIGG for awhile, and keep a log on which subjects seem to be the most popular.

good method but can get you banned from digg...
you need to add max 20 users a day...
after couple of days, share your story and then you'll hit the frontpage..

I trying to do it now.. hope I'll hit the frontpage soon ;)
    wish me luck
