adsense/adbrite ads causing slow page load times over past week

since last week, i've noticed that my site takes about 20 seconds to load. this is on the front page that just has adsense, and on the other pages that has adsense and one adbrite. i also had the problem with shoppingads.com, so i removed it. but, since i'm still having the problem with adsense and adbrite, my guess is that it's the javascript code. any idea why this is suddenly happened? the status bar says something like "waiting on page2...." when it's adsense that's the ad not loaded yet.

also, just tested in firefox, and it appears to load fine. so, i guess my question is, why is it only happening on this particular site of mine? i have another site with adsense ads and it loads quick.

 

I have seen adsense ads slow sites even this forum some days. They seem to have days that ads are very slow loading.

 

does google let us use adsense and other ads at the same time?

 

Yup, provided they are clearly distinguishable with different color codes
