Banned from Digg after Digg Exchange :(

Well guy's I would not recommend doing Digg exchanges at ALL. I had done a little Digg exchange here at Digitalpoint, got around 35 Diggs and now guess what...

I try login I get a blank page, I try signup it goes to homepage... Hmm wtf?

I check my friends pages now I'm no longer in their friends list, and my profile page has dissapeared as well as all my diggs.

So I signup a new account via a proxy and try digg another one of my pages from AdminMania and guess what I get

So take this as a warning, Digg exchanges = Banned, including your site. Not nice :(

yup. Digg is cracking down. It used to be easy to get front page with digg exchanges but not anymore. My best advice is to find open wifi networks, use the digg exchanges on that ip/acct, and submit your site on that ip. If you get banned then no big deal.

That's what happens when you waste time and effort in short term, untargetted traffic... Lazy marketing.

Probably people who digged on it got banned too. They are on a mission to ban everyone ATM lol.

Digg is garbage, I only got around 200 at the most uniques from them, other bookmarking sites pulling thousands

Digg will ban all submissions and users they find that have been involved in Digg exchanges. I'm amazed people still do them openly in the Freebies section, even after being warned countless times.

Well this is fun... I never did a Digg submission, I did however submit about 20 pages (out of 4500) on one of my sites, about 20 articles. I did that like 1 article / day, so it was pretty normal. Why am I banned I will never know... But i won't digg anymore, just get some good stories from their homepage.

I think maybe for multiple submissions so closely? I did several over a about 48 hours as well. That might be it...

digg can be good, but if you do digg exchanges plan on getting your IP banned. If you have COX internet in the US then you can change your IP whenever you want. Just go into your router and change your MAC address and then unplug it and your modem and plug back in. It will see the new MAC address and think you are a new customer and will assign you a new IP address. I would not recommend doing this multiple times in one day, but occasionally seems to be fine. May also work with other ISPs.

Digg is only useful if you have some goofy ass news story or a dumb photo you want to share....which will do nothing for your website traffic usually. Even then, unless you're a "Digg Dork" and have 50 million friends set up on there, you will get 2 Diggs (one being from yourself). Getting on the front page if Digg is nearly impossible.
